The Role - Learning Support Assistant
- Working with learners who have been diagnosed on the Autistic Spectrum
- Work closely with the SEN Coordinator and class teachers to support the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs in a classroom setting and on a one-to-one basis
- Support students' social and emotional development, promoting positive behaviour and fostering independence
- Assist with personal care needs of students, where necessary
- Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities
Experience - Learning Support Assistant
- Previous experience working with SEN/Autistic Learners
- Experience working in a SEN/mainstream school setting
- Providing support to students with additional needs such as Autism
- Knowledge of PECs and Makaton
