Demand Planner & Product Scheduler

We are seeking a Demand & Product Scheduler to join our clients expanding team, responsible for creating and maintaining a production plan that aligns with business goals. This includes meeting sales objectives, managing resource availability, and adhering to financial budgets. The ideal candidate will ensure that all products are produced cost-effectively, meet quality specifications, and are ready for distribution within agreed food timescales.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Liaise with the sales division to determine customer requirements and sales forecasts.
  • Process customer orders and ensure alignment with production capabilities.
  • Determine manpower, equipment, and raw materials needed to meet production demand.
  • Communicate daily production schedules to ensure adherence and efficiency.
  • Manage materials and packaging supply to prevent shortages and align with schedules.
  • Identify and resolve material supply failures promptly.
  • Verify completion of the production plan through yield assessments and sales reports.
  • Prepare weekly forecast vs actual sales reports and propose solutions for discrepancies.
  • Review raw material and packaging stocks to minimise waste and improve cost-efficiency.
  • Manage weekly delivery schedules to process customer orders and report any shortages.
  • Develop and maintain supplier performance trackers in conjunction with the procurement team.
  • Participate in production-related projects for continuous improvement and cost reduction.
  • Maintain open communication with line managers regarding business opportunities or threats.
  • Contribute to the knowledge of company policies and regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years experience in production planning and raw material demand planning.
  • Highly motivated with a results-oriented and solution-driven approach.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and mathematical skills.
  • Proficiency in IT, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain and Distribution Management.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a flexible working approach.
