Our client is seeking an experienced HR Assistant to assist in providing expert advice and guidance on HR matters in line with their policies, procedures, and employment law. With a busy Employee Relations (ER) workload, you'll be working work closely with HR colleagues to maintain a culture of employee engagement, well-being, and inclusiveness.

About the Role

  • Title: HR Assistant, FT permanent
  • Location: Liverpool (hybrid)
  • Salary: up to £30,000 per annum
  • Benefits: 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension, life assurance plus more

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for employees, providing support on various HR issues.
  • Manage a busy ER workload, collaborating with HR Advisor's and Administrators.
  • Use your initiative and ER knowledge to suggest and implement changes to HR processes and procedures.
  • Provide effective HR support on misconduct, performance management, flexible working requests, and probation cases.
  • Work with the HR systems advisor to maintain the integrity of HR and payroll systems.
  • Stay informed on developments within HR and employment law.
  • Conduct exit interviews and health reviews, providing valuable feedback to managers.
  • Support employees through maternity and paternity processes and other family-friendly policies.

Experience required

  • Proven HR generalist experience with a strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously and flexibly, using your own initiative.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and numeric skills, with the ability to provide clear, concise written and verbal advice.
  • Ability to challenge and resolve issues with patience, sensitivity, diplomacy, and integrity.
  • Excellent IT skills, with a sound working knowledge of MS Office.
  • A good understanding of employment law is desirable.
