Posted by Reed.

Are you passionate about saving lives and helping others? Do you want to join a dynamic and diverse team that works to recruit more potential donors for patients in need?

We are working with a leading charity that aims to fight blood cancer, and they are looking for an Engagement Coordinator to join to help reach their goal of finding a matching donor for every patient.

Please note, that you must have a valid UK driving licence to be considered for this role.

As an Engagement Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing, managing and delivering donor recruitment events across the UK, both online and offline, in collaboration with volunteers, partners and community groups.
  • Working with patients and their families to create engaging and successful appeals, and supporting them throughout their journey.
  • Running training sessions to educate volunteers and stakeholders on the register eligibility criteria, registration process, donation methods and more.
  • Using the database to log contacts, patients, event activity and track KPI performance.
  • Building and maintaining high quality working relationships with a variety of external stakeholders, some of whom will be vulnerable.
  • Contributing to projects and campaigns that focus on core target groups for donor recruitment, such as donors from minority ethnic backgrounds.
  • Working towards donor recruitment fundraising targets by actively encouraging money donations and/or fundraising alongside events.
  • Supporting and providing cover for other Donor Recruitment colleagues as needed.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, such as communications, marketing, events management or health promotion.
  • Experience in organising and delivering events, preferably in the charity sector.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to tailor your message to different audiences and platforms.
  • A strong sense of empathy and compassion, and the ability to deal with sensitive and challenging situations.
  • A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A willingness to travel within the UK, sometimes at weekends and/or into the evening, and to attend and lead donor recruitment events.
