People Advisor

Reed is recruiting on behalf of our client for a Pepple Advisor. As a People Advisor, you will provide a high standard, solution focused and valuing adding HR service, supporting the People Team to meet its strategic aims and objectives.

This will include the delivery of a gold standard recruitment and onboarding service for paid and volunteer roles, providing first line advice on a width breadth of HR issues including recruitment, absence management, performance management and compliance checks such as right to work and DBS.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Recruitment and Onboarding:

  • Proactively Contact New Recruits: Reach out to new hires to guide them through the onboarding process and introduce them to the organisation.

  • Job Advertisements and Utilisation of Job Boards:

  • Manage job advertisements.

  • Utilise job platforms and LinkedIn for recruitment purposes.

  • Application Processing and Updates:

  • Handle applications from various sources

  • Keep application records up to date.

  • Terms and Conditions Administration:

  • Ensure that terms and conditions are communicated clearly to new employees during onboarding.

  • Pre-Employment Checks:

  • Conduct necessary pre-employment checks in compliance with employment laws, CQC requirements, and organisational policies.

  • Honorary Contracts:

  • Prepare all required documentation for recruits engaged via honorary contracts.

  • Data Management:

  • Maintain accurate data in the CONNECT system, ensuring compliance with reporting and GDPR guidelines.

Advisory Responsibilities:

  • Provide Guidance on internal Policies:

  • Advise line managers and employees on the application of policies related to Absence Management, Performance Management, and Special Leave.

  • Attendance Management Support:

  • Offer advice to line managers regarding attendance management initiatives.

  • Assist managers with occupational health referrals.

  • Maternity, Paternity, Adoption, and Parental Leave:

  • Provide advice and guidance to individuals navigating maternity, paternity, adoption, and parental leave.

  • First-Line Advice and Queries:

  • Address queries received by the People Team, offering initial advice and guidance.

  • Payroll Queries:

  • Advise individuals on basic payroll matters, including occupational sick pay entitlements.

  • Terms and Conditions:

  • Provide information on employment terms and conditions, such as holiday entitlement, occupational sick pay, and special leave.

  • Exit Interviews:

  • Conduct exit interviews with departing employees.

  • Absence Reports:

  • Generate absence reports as needed

HR Administration:

  • Manage recruitment, volunteer and employee documentation in line with GDPR requirements
  • Filing return to work/self-certification paperwork and cross-referencing information on CONNECT
  • Support the People Partners by notetaking at formal meetings
