Robert Half are pleased to be working in partnership with a growing manufacturing business based in Chippenham to recruit a newly created Group Accountant role. This role would suit a finalist/newly qualified ACA/ACCA Accountant seeking a role with variety, progression and development opportunities.
The role
The Group Accountant will work closely with the Head of Finance on all aspects of group reporting, and will be pivotal in consolidating accounts and liaising with auditors. This role would suit someone seeking their first move from practice, ideally from a small or medium sized firm where they've been involved in accounts preparation and VAT returns. This role offers scope for progression long term but would also suit someone who has extensive practice experience and is looking for a change.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Preparing and consolidating monthly group financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis and provide insightful reports to senior leadership.
- Liaise with external auditors, ensuring timely and successful completion of annual audits.
- Implement and maintain robust financial controls and procedures across the group.
- Support the Finance Director in strategic financial planning and decision-making.
- Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
- Assist with ad hoc financial projects and initiatives as required.
- VAT returns.
- Corporation tax.
Profile:
This role would suit someone seeking their first move from practice, ideally from a small or medium sized firm where they've been involved in accounts preparation and VAT returns. Key skills/attributes will include:
- ACA/ACCA finalist or qualified.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Package:
- £45-55k base salary.
- Hybrid working with 2-3 days on site in the Chippenham office.
- 24 days leave + bank holidays.
- Free on site parking.
