Position: Behaviour Mentor

Role Overview: As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting students within our exclusion unit, monitoring campus activities, and being on call to manage and de-escalate challenging situations. Your primary goal will be to guide students towards positive behaviour and help them reintegrate successfully into the school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing one-on-one and group support to students in the exclusion unit
- Developing and implementing behaviour improvement plans
- Monitoring and supervising the school campus to ensure a safe and orderly environment
- Being on call to respond to behavioural incidents and provide immediate support
- Collaborating with teachers, support staff, and parents to create effective strategies for behaviour management
- Building positive relationships with students to encourage trust and respect
- Recording and tracking student progress and behaviour incidents
Requirements:
- Experience working with young people, ideally in a school or youth work setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to stay calm and assertive in challenging situations
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping students succeed
- Understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies
- Relevant qualifications or training in behaviour management or youth work is desirable
