Salary - Up to £55,000

A prominent multidisciplinary environmental consultancy is on the lookout for a seasoned Ecologist to step into an exciting role as their in-house Ecology Manager. This position offers the flexibility of remote work while engaging with projects throughout the Southeast and London.

As an Ecology Manager within this consultancy, you will tackle a variety of projects related to heritage initiatives involving historic buildings, as well as opportunities in mixed-use developments, residential, commercial, and renewable energy sectors. This role provides a chance to broaden your portfolio in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Ecology Manager Requirements:

  • BSc in relevant subject (MSc is desirable)
  • Significant consultancy experience in Ecology (Essential)
  • Knowledge and experience in BNG
  • Level 2 Bat Licence
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Botany specialisation
  • Valid driving licence and access to a personal vehicle (Essential)

Role Responsibilities

  • This position involves comprehensive project management, including conducting ecological assessments, habitat surveys, and impact evaluations, utilising the consultancy's vast network and hands-on engagement.
  • Key tasks consist of fieldwork related to protected species and habitats, producing high quality technical reports that meet CIEEM standards, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
  • The role emphasises the importance of fostering strong client relationships, engaging in tendering processes, and pursuing business development opportunities.
  • Marketing initiatives are also a crucial aspect, aimed at enhancing presence and influence within the ecological sector.

This remote position will require occasional site visits and meetings, primarily in London and surrounding areas. Although the consultancy operates without a physical office, it organises quarterly meetings and social events in London to foster team collaboration.
