Location: Solihull

Hours: Full time Monday to Friday

Salary: £35 - 40,000 basic dependent on experience

Benefits: Commission, 21 days holiday plus Bank Holidays and free parking on a rota basis

We are working on behalf of an awarding winning organisation in the Construction industry, which is seeking to an experienced Business Development Manager to support the strategic growth of the business. They are offering a competitive basic salary plus commission payable up to 10% of project values.

As the Business Development Manager, you will be instrumental in developing and executing strategic sales plans in line with the wider business strategy to ensure continuous growth, and expanding their client portfolio. You will be involved in a variety of sales and marketing activities to generate new leads such as networking, phone calls, e-marketing and LinkedIn. The business works on projects both domestic and commercial all over the UK, which provides a wealth of opportunity and scope to achieve success and financial reward.

This is an office based role in Solihull town centre. Working Monday to Thursday 9am until 5pm and Friday 9am until 4pm. Free parking is available on a rota basis.

Role and responsibilities:

  • As the Business Development Manager you will develop and execute strategic sales and marketing plans
  • Identify new business opportunities including new markets, clients, partnerships, products or services
  • Build sustainable long term relationships with new and existing clients, understanding their current and future needs to develop attractive proposals to suit them
  • Cultivate warm business relationships with key decision-makers and influencers.
  • Remain up to date with current Construction industry trends and regulatory developments to inform strategic decision-making
  • Actively engage and pitch new sales and products to new and existing clients
  • Promote the business, projects and services at conferences and networking events
  • Create and send out fee proposals
  • Responsible for tracking current project processes and provide regular updates to the Senior leadership team in weekly meetings
  • Any other sales or business development related activities as determined by the Senior leadership team

Skills and experience required:

  • Proven demonstrable work history a similar Sales Manager or Business Development Manager position is essential
  • Experience in the Construction industry advantageous to hit the ground running
  • Proven track record in achieving revenue targets and securing new business wins
  • Proactive, passionate, organised and driven
  • Motivated by success and financial reward
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Comfortable to work within a collaborative team environment
