Are you a specialist PCB Designer looking for a Senior Engineer role? If so, we have an excellent opportunity for you.
We have an opportunity within a technically innovative engineering business to join their design department and help them move forward with their product roadmap by creating innovative and cost-effective PCB designs for their new suite of products.
Your main focus will be to creation of accurate cost-effective PCB designs that meet specific project requirements for both development and manufacture. Identify opportunities for improvement of PCB designs, creating proposals for change where applicable and be the reference point for PCB specification and design.
You will ensure that all PCB designs conform to design and industry standards and that all supporting data is logged and recorded correctly. You will liaise with internal teams to ensure effective PCB integration into the finished product and recommend any process changes where appropriate
In addition to this you will evaluate PCB product design and process capability using Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodology., perform DFMA studies, design and conduct PCB reliability tests and apply any other applicable toolsets (6 Sigma or otherwise) relevant to PCB performance evaluation and improvement.
As a Senior PCB Design Engineer we are looking for the following qualifications, skills and personal qualities: -
- HNC / ONC Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Be fully conversant with IPC standards
- Experience of multi-layer PCB design and manufacturing
- Some exposure to high current boards a prerequisite.
- MS Windows, ECadstar, Blueprint, MRP/ERP, data management software.
- Application of Design/Process capability assessment and improvement and Design for Manufacture and Assembly toolsets.
You will also have an innovative approach to PCB design, be able to demonstrate good electrical engineering knowledge and have an excellent understanding of PCB manufacturing processes.
