The Public Health team within East Riding Council are recruiting to a Public Health Senior Officer to support Public Health Leads - Health Improvement, with the co-ordination and implementation of Smoking Cessation and Tobacco Control, including the procurement process and contract management of services.

You will support across a range of Health Improvement activities with a focus on Smoking Cessation and Tobacco control, including delivery planning, development and implementation of policies, protocols, procedures and guidelines and providing advice and guidance.

They will work as part of a multidisciplinary Public Health team and be required to work closely with external partners and key stakeholders to ensure health needs are met within the community.

You will require experience in project management and working to tight deadlines and also need an understanding of evaluating projects and working within the councils' policies. You will need to have extensive knowledge about our local area and health and wellbeing throughout the life course and need to be able to interpret health needs and be able to write reports and business cases.

Applicants must therefore have an understanding of the governments, Office for Health Improvement and Disparities and other public bodies' agenda around Public Health and health improvement.

This role is Fixed term until 31 March 2026 (due to temporary funding)
