We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer with substantial experience in the UK residential sector to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess experience in mentoring and guiding junior team members, fostering a collaborative working environment.

Position: Senior Structural Engineer

Reports to: Associate or Principal Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Technical and Commercial Execution: Manage the technical and commercial aspects of project work, ensuring successful completion.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and delegate tasks to junior engineers and technicians, helping to develop their skills.
  • Complex Analysis and Design: Undertake complex engineering analysis and design calculations.
  • Quality Assurance: Check the work of other engineers and technicians to maintain high standards.
  • Business Management: Implement business management systems and assist in preparing fee bids.
  • Project Management: Oversee projects, including invoicing and resource management.
  • Staff Development: Assist in the training, appraisal, and management of technical staff.
  • Client Interaction: Develop strong relationships with clients and provide advice on complex engineering matters during meetings and inspections.

Requirements

  • Experience: Experience in a consulting environment is highly desirable and UK Residential sector
  • Education: Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Professional Membership: Chartered or Incorporated Engineer, Member of IStructE, ICE, or another relevant institution.
  • Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and commercially aware. Proven ability in engineering design and reporting.
