With a number of iconic brands , they have a clear presence in 18 countries, offering quality products in various categories. In Europe, they are the largest producer of Heritage and modern charcuterie and cooked meats, with market leadership in France, Spain and Portugal.

Sigma have an extensive supply chain and distribution network, with 64 manufacturing facilities, 179 distribution centres across the Mexico, US, LATAM and Europe

The business is going through a period of significant growth, especially within the UK and the next step in their journey is setting up a dedicated UK distribution operation which will provide an even quicker and more effective service to their growing UK customer base.

This is where you will come in as Supply Chain Manager, playing a vital role in growing the UK team as well as the set up and success of this expansion

The Role

The purpose of the role is to ensure that the right stock is in the right place at the right time to ensure customer satisfaction with the key responsibilities of the role being:

  • Forecasting and demand planning both on a country and SKU level,
  • Working with the existing supply chain network across Europe,
  • Management of stock levels taking consideration of shelf life
  • Oversee customer delivery and satisfaction
  • Management and maintenance of the SAP system in relation to supply chain
  • Assist with the provision of samples to potential customers
  • Proactively look for ways to improve the current processes and set up new where necessary with the goal of increasing customer orders and satisfaction
  • Work with UK commercial team to provide exceptional customer service to its growing customer base.

This is a remote role with regular UK travel (especially Suffolk) expected, as well as visits to its European Operation

The Person

In terms of the type of candidate we are looking for, a proven experience of managing a remote supply chain as well as a understanding a retail and food service customer base will be key.

We are keen to find someone who can play a significant role in the progression and change which is happening within the business . SME experience is preferred over larger blue chip as systems and processes must be appropriate rather than industry leading blueprints.

Confidence in your ability and decision making will also ensure success within this role
