Finance Business Partner required to join an established public sector organisation for a 6 - 12 month interim assignment. My client is looking for an experienced public sector Finance Business Partner to add value over a busy period.
The Finance Business Partner will provide a comprehensive management accounting support service, alongside the duties below;
Key responsibilities of the Finance Business Partner
- Prepare and maintain revenue and capital budgets in accordance with corporate standards and timescales
- Liaise with budget holders on an on-going basis on all financial matters
- Produce and present financial management information, budget monitoring and other reports as requested
- Assist in the production of formal reports
- Undertake regular budget monitoring meetings with budget holders
- Promote and support financial awareness and budget management training of budget holders
- Maintain the integrity of specific service area financial information within the ledger
- Provide technical advise, guidance briefings and training as required
- Support the closure of accounts
- Support the production of statutory returns as required
Required skills and experience of the Finance Business Partner
- CIPFA qualified or CCAB recognised qualification
- Experience working in services or corporate functions
- Understanding of public sector finances
- Experience of revenue & capital budgeting & budget monitoring
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
- Previous public sector experience is essential
