Project Manager

The role involves planning, managing, and monitoring contractual work to meet the company's goals. The candidate will act as a deputy when necessary and carry out additional tasks as directed by the Managing Director or Senior Project Manager. Will work onsite at the clients office for the majority of the assignment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Conduct site assessments, create specifications and estimates, and ensure risk management. Manage resources, oversee site operations, and perform regular inspections to ensure project standards.
  • Customer Relations: Meet customer needs, enhance satisfaction, identify further requirements, and resolve issues effectively.
  • Business Strategy: Seek new clients, explore innovative materials and methods, promote best practices, and evaluate tenders and quotes.
  • Communication: Relay company and HSQE standards to senior site staff, engage with employees for feedback, and discuss business and HSQE outcomes.
  • Health & Safety: Supervise safety documentation, implement the 5C management strategy, manage permits and licenses, monitor working hours, and investigate incidents.

Competency Requirements:

  • Skills: Effective communication across all levels, problem-solving, self-management, innovation, adaptability, and computer proficiency.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with civil engineering techniques, legal aspects of safety and health, risk assessment, and business contracts.
  • Attitude: Cooperative, committed to quality, and a role model for safety and environmental standards.

Training and Qualifications:

  • CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)
  • Construction-related degree or equivalent (HNC, HND, BSc, NVQ)
  • CSCS Contract Manager and related NVQ
  • Valid driving license

Experience:

  • At least 5 years in the Rail/Civil Engineering sector - ideally LUL (London Underground)
