About Us: Spencer Clarke Group is partnering with a secondary school in Chorley to find a dedicated Creative Arts and Design Technology (DT) Teaching Assistant. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting students' creative and technical development.

Job Description: We are looking for a dynamic DT Teaching Assistant to join the school's team. You will support students and teachers in a creative and safe workshop environment. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity with an immediate start.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with using machinery safely in the DT workshop.
  • Organise and prepare materials and resources before lessons.
  • Keep the DT workshop clean and tidy.
  • Support teachers in delivering hands-on learning experiences.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students.
  • Report any maintenance needs or safety concerns.
  • Help develop and implement creative arts and DT projects.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in a workshop or similar environment, preferably in education.
  • Proficient with DT machinery and tools.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Proactive and flexible in supporting teachers and students.
  • Committed to a safe and supportive learning environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
