The Role

Are you ready to take your career to the next level? As a Tekla Detailer/ Designer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of structural design. You'll be responsible for creating precise 3D models of steel structures, collaborating with top-tier architects and engineers, and ensuring our projects are delivered to the highest standards. This is your chance to work on diverse and challenging projects, all while being part of a supportive and forward-thinking team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 3D models of steel structures using Tekla Structures.
  • Produce initial steel frame structure designs, incorporating hot-rolled steel as needed, from architect's drawings and structural calculations.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, structural engineers, and other contractors to deliver optimal design solutions.
  • Ensure designs are aligned with project budgets, managing any necessary variations.
  • Convert designs into production drawings with precision using Tekla Software.
  • Collaborate with the team and site personnel to ensure timely and accurate delivery of designs, following the DfMA approach.
  • Support the team from design to manufacture, including thorough checking of GA's, models, and fabrication information.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and workflows.
  • Provide troubleshooting and guidance to production operatives and on-site installation teams, including site visits as required.
  • Contribute to the development and documentation of team procedures, including training notes and process updates.
  • Maintain high-quality standards in all deliverables, ensuring excellence in both personal and team outputs.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in Light Gauge Steel detailing.

Proficiency with Steel Framing Systems (SFS) or hot-rolled steel (HRS).

  • Advanced skills in Tekla Structures for frame modelling and detailing; candidates with Vertex BD/ Agacad experience will also be considered.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with clients and stakeholders.
  • Superior time and project management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Dedication to continuous learning and professional development.
