Are you ready to be apart of the team? Looking to expand of further progress your Teaching Assistant career or seeking a new challenge? Wantage based Primary school are keen to appoint an Early Years Foundation Stage / Nursery Specialist

Are you enthusiastic, engaging and has a love and knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and beyond. You will be predominantly based in our nursery class, alongside our Nursery teacher and practitioners, planning engaging opportunities and learning, effectively managing behaviour and supporting children's but the role may also involve work in other areas at times.

Salary - FTE is £22,737 | Pro rata £17,101.74 | Paid for 44.6 weeks (39 working weeks + 5.6 weeks paid holiday)

Hours - 8:30am - 3:30pm Monday - Friday (including 30 minutes unpaid lunch) 32.5 hours per week

The Early Years Foundation Stage/ Nursery Specialist will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team, under the leadership and supervision of leadership team and the principal.

  • The successful EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage)/ Nursery Specialist ( will work with individuals/groups to support the delivery of quality learning and teaching and will help raise standards of achievement for all pupils.
  • Work with the Early Years class teacher(s) to plan and deliver purposeful learning opportunities.
  • Early Years Foundation Stage/ Nursery Specialist will be responsible for running daily group sessions, play based interactions and interventions with specific target pupils within EYFS.

Work may be carried out in classrooms, intervention/ break out spaces, outdoors or outside the main teaching area

The ideal candidate to join Wantage based Primary school:

  • An understanding of safeguarding children in all settings in Wantage based Primary school.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and adapt quickly and effectively to changing circumstances/ situations whilst remaining firm and fair.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with children and adults.
  • Good standard of literacy, numeracy and ICT skills ideally GCSE C or equivalent or above.
