Title: Legal and Compliance Specialist

Location: Burgess Hill

Duration 12 Months

Hybrid 2 days in the office

The main tasks of the role include (but are not limited to):

  • Supporting the Compliance function by identifying, assessing, managing and mitigating local compliance risks. This includes providing guidance to the organization relating to compliance matters and acting as a point of contact for basic compliance queries, supporting the Compliance Manager where required.
  • Helping to devise and implement suitable legal and compliance processes.
  • Checking the accurate completion of templates and managing legal and compliance templates and related documentation.
  • Overseeing governance for information and documentation storage across the organisation (by acting as the Local Records Management Coordinator) as well as managing governance for information and documentation storage specifically within the Legal and Compliance department so that all information in the Department is stored in an organized and appropriately accessible manner.
  • Main user of relevant tools and systems such as DocuSign and contract repositories for contract management (templates as well as signed documents).
  • Day to day support in relation to Department operations, such as communications and administration.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have strong attention to detail.
  • Have strong organization skills.
  • Be a strong communicator.
  • Be outgoing, collaborative, willing to take responsibility and able to engage proactively with multiple stakeholders from across the organization.
  • Have a basic understanding of contracts and be confident in reading contractual documents.
  • Have a Law degree (desired but not essential).
  • Have a working knowledge of project management and/or business process management (desired but not essential).
  • Be proficient with IT systems and "tech savvy".
