Job Title: Multi Skilled Engineer
Location: East London / City of London
Rate: £21 - £22 per hour
Working Days and Nights 07:00 - 19:00 & 19:00 - 07:00 - 4 days on 4 days off - 4 nights on 4 nights off.
Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Multiskilled Shift Technician to join our engineering team in East London. The role involves maintaining and operating site electrical and mechanical systems to ensure compliance with industry standards. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day maintenance, address reactive issues, and communicate with the Shift Operational Risk Controller (SORC) regarding plant operations and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and operate electrical and mechanical systems according to codes and guidelines.
- Perform Preventive Planned Maintenance (PPM) on time and at a high standard.
- Address reactive maintenance issues related to electrical equipment.
- Update computer-based systems, especially the PPM system.
- Identify, rectify, and escalate HVAC system faults as required.
- Support SORC with Low Voltage/High Voltage (LV/HV) switching.
- Keep plant areas, workshops, and communal areas tidy and safe.
Systems & Equipment:
- Building Electrical Installations, including emergency lighting and control systems.
- Building Management Systems (BMS), HVAC (AHUs, VAVs, FCUs), boilers, generators.
- Mechanical plant systems, dampers, actuators, and pipework.
- Fire suppression and detection systems, UPS systems, and water treatment plants.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in building services.
- C&G Level 3 qualification in electrical services or maintenance.
- Mechanical services qualifications (desirable).
- HV Authorised Person Certificate (desirable).
- 18th Edition IEE: Wiring & Installation.
- Recognised training or apprenticeship.
Personal Qualities:
- Strong communication skills, proactive, and reliable.
- Technically competent in building services, HVAC, UPS, generators, and water treatment.
- Willingness to attend off-site training when necessary.
