My client is a membership organisation that provides research on human regulatory affairs in the medical field, based in Canary Wharf.
They seek an up and coming management accountant to join their team.
The ideal candidate will with be part qualified in ACCA or CIMA. Or AAT qualified and actively looking to pursue an Chartered accountancy qualification.
This role is ideal for any junior accountants looking for that next step up. Due to the role being part of a small team of 3 lots of exposure is on offer.
key responsibilities:
Reconciliations
- Multi currency bank reconciliation
- Credit card reconciliation
- Maintaining cash books/nominal ledgers/sales and purchase ledgers
Management Accounts
- Preparation and processing of journals including deferred income, accruals and prepayments
- Prepare monthly management accounts
- Work with the Financial Controller to prepare and issue month-end reports as required
Credit Control
- Assist the Accounts Assistant with credit control
- Reporting debtor days
Audit
- Assist prepare year end accounts
- Assist and liaise with external auditors with the year end audit processes dealing with audit requests, samples, and queries.
VAT
- Ensure all relevant information is available for quarterly VAT returns
- Maintain a working relationship with our EU VAT advisors
- Seek VAT advice for our EU courses
- Help prepare EU VAT returns according to local requirements
Budgets
- Work with Financial Controller to put together the annual draft budget for office the organisation-wide training events
