CREDIT CONTROLLER

Credit Controller - Temporary - minimum 3 months

Our client, a global leader in mission-critical technologies for the energy and process industries, is seeking a skilled Credit Controller to join their UK Shared Service Centre. As a Credit Controller, you will play a vital role in managing customer debt, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Issuing invoices accurately and timely, including updating customer portals if required.
  • Implementing the dunning process to drive prompt payment of invoices.
  • Proactively chasing overdue customer accounts for payment.
  • Managing records of all communication and queries from various departments.
  • Collaborating with management and sales teams to escalate non-payment issues.
  • Maintaining the customer 'stop' list and resolving customer disputes efficiently.
  • Preparing monthly aged debtor report with detailed commentary.
  • Ensuring adherence to the agreed dunning process.
  • Reviewing bank accounts for customer payments and allocating them correctly.
  • Forecasting monthly cash receipts and reconciling intercompany balances.
  • Ensuring compliance with credit management policies and obtaining necessary documentation.
  • Obtaining credit reports for new and existing customers.
  • Conducting the annual credit limit review.
  • Clearing blocked sales orders and handling ad-hoc assignments when required.

Requirements:

  • Experience in credit control and accounts receivable within a large business.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel (v-lookup, pivot tables).
  • Numerical skills and understanding of accounting principles.
  • Familiarity with VAT regulations.
  • Proactive, flexible, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
  • Knowledge of SAP is preferred.

  • GL Accountants, Finance Managers, Financial Controllers, and Business Partners.
  • Customers, banks, and credit agencies.
  • Internal and External Auditors.

  • Working closely with senior management and building strong relationships.
  • Dealing with challenging customers reluctant to pay invoices.
  • Ensuring a positive working environment within the SSC and wider finance team.
  • Collaborating with Internal/External Auditors and key internal business partners.
