Five Education is looking to recruit an In-Class Support Assistant in Yeovil for September 2024. The school has a nursery attached, at times the school will ask that you provide support to the early years children. As a Support Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work closely with identified children of primary age, encouraging them to learn and challenge themselves. The children have a diagnosis of Special Education Needs (SEN) such as Autism or ADHD and/ or mental health challenges. They will need extra help at school in the lessons and at break and lunchtimes.
Experience is not necessary, but a can-do attitude, resilience and initiative are essential. You will need to be available 8:30-15:30. This work is term time only, the school prefers people who can offer 5 days a week but they will consider people who can work a minimum of two days a week.
Responsibilities and duties:
- Supporting 1:1 in class or in small groups
- Help pupils to remain focussed
- Build a strong relationship with the pupils and teaching staff to ensure that the pupils are achieving their potential
Essential Criteria:
- Have an interest in supporting children/young people
- Right to work in the UK (Valid visa)
- Relevant references and DBS/police checks if necessary
- Able to work at least 2 days a week (term time only) 8:30 am - 3:30pm

The pay rate is £12.82 an hour, this rate includes holiday pay. The working day is 6.5 hours with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break. Your daily rate of pay would be £83.29 but with the potential to earn more.
