Job Title: Senior Accountant
They are well-established and respected organization is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who thrives in a busy workplace and is well-versed in working closely with senior management. They require a high level senior accountant/tax manager ideally on a part time basis (possibly full time dependant on individuals circumstances).
Looking for someone that can manage themselves and their own portfolio of clients.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
- Plan, assign and review staff's work
- Prepare/finalise accounts and associated tax returns, VAT submissions, dealing with all client queries and other ad hoc work as required.
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Ensure timely bank payments
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Requirements:
- You will be a fully qualified accountant/tax accountant (or qualified by experience) and will have spent many years working in practice, managing your own pool of clients.
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
- In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Awareness of business trends
- Familiarity with financial accounting statements
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Hands-on experience with accounting software packages
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
