Job Summary: The Teaching Assistant provides essential support to teachers and students in the classroom. This role involves assisting with instructional tasks, managing classroom behaviour, and supporting students' learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Support: Assist the teacher in preparing lesson materials, setting up the classroom, and maintaining a clean and safe learning environment.
  • Student Assistance: Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts, provide additional support, and help with assignments.
  • Behaviour Management: Help manage student behaviour by implementing classroom rules and supporting positive behaviour strategies.
  • Progress Monitoring: Record and report students' progress to the teacher, and assist in assessing student performance.
  • Administrative Tasks: Take daily attendance, organize classroom resources, and assist with grading and record-keeping.
  • Supervision: Supervise students during breaks, lunch, and school outings, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Special Needs Support: Provide one-on-one support to students with special educational needs, following individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Communication: Liaise with parents, teachers, and other staff to support student learning and address any concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
