Finance Analyst

IQ Talent Solutions are delighted to be recruiting a Group Finance Analyst for one of our most prestigious clients who are a global industry leader in the software sector. The role is based in Central London where there is a hybrid working policy in place. The role will pay a competitive basic salary, bonus, and industry leading benefits.

You will own internal and external financial reports, monthly Board reports and other ad hoc analysis. You will support with timely and accurate external audit reporting and analysis and insights on IFRS technical accounting solutions to emerging business issues.

What is expected of the Group Finance Analyst?

  • Become a key point of contact for Senior Management regarding the subsidiaries' results; leverage understanding of the business and access to our clients business intelligence systems to provide informative, timely information for the Board of Directors and Senior Management.
  • Leverage strong understanding of the company's financial systems to improve reporting efficiency and to coach the business to use the company's new reporting tools.
  • Own and lead short-term and long-term projects of a financial and non-financial nature. Examples of current projects include application of IFRS standards, improvements to procurement process and enhancing management reporting using automation.
  • Support Head of Group Reporting with acquisition accounting process and financial integration of newly acquired subsidiaries.
  • Work with the Group auditor and to ensure that audit deliverables are met, monitor progress of subsidiaries to ensure audit deadlines are met and that audit issues are flagged and resolved quickly.
  • Providing guidance, training and support for existing and new finance team members and wider business community on IFRS technical issues and in using our clients reporting systems.
  • Assist Head of Group Reporting with preparing, reviewing and consolidation of group actual, forecast and budget reporting, including reviewing Opcos upload.
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory reporting for head office entities including the Group Consolidated statutory reporting, understand and be able to produce elimination journals for the Group consolidation purposes.

What we look for a Group Finance Analyst?

Essential

  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA)
  • Highly analytical, structured approach to analysis, communication, data presenting, with a focus on process improvement and adding insights.
  • Excellent written English and verbal communication across a range of stakeholders, with the ability to communicate complex matters in a clear and concise manner.
  • Experience of applying IFRS in complex business environment
  • Proven ability of meeting tight deadlines, prioritise and proactively reporting to the manager's and stakeholder's expectations.
  • Strong attention to detail with experience to review and analyse large data sets and identify drivers (Excel, Power BI, Cognos).
  • Ability to manage resource in other teams/ functions to achieve the deliverable and provide training to existing staff.
  • Strong across all MS Office applications (such as PowerPoint, Excel etc.), with at least intermediate Excel skills.

Desirable

  • Hyperion, SmartView and HFM systems skills at report building level, competent user of data manipulation tools such as Power BI.
