IT Manufacturing Lead

The Opportunity

We are currently supporting the search for an experienced IT Lead for a manufacturing business in the North East. You'll be directly responsible for managing the IT Service provided to manufacturing teams, including in flight projects and processes. You will be able to provide appropriate advice and guidance to reach solutions that will bring value to your local customers in what they receive from the IT function.

The role is responsible for ensuring the performance and security of daily operations in line with target service levels and security frameworks. As part of a continuous improvement agenda you'll be the local Subject Matter Expert for all active IT Projects. Effectively you'll be the key link between group IT and local customers - working collaboratively to manage the technical and operational relationships.

The Role

In this stand alone role, you will be responsible for managing the IT and OT systems for the manufacturing site. You will:You

  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of the local IT business services in manufacturing, including support, maintenance and development of local manufacturing IT applications
  • Manage the daily operation, including the coordination of internal IT and external resource
  • Ensure IT security activities are followed and be the contact for the manufacturing site, supporting improvement activities.
  • Prioritise IT support activities correctly and report to central IT functions and manufacturing management with updates.
  • Secure that the services are delivered according to business demand and agreed service commitments towards the business.
  • Provide advice to end users on IT processes and act as the main point-of-escalation for the business users when IT processes / services are not performing according to pre-defined levels.
  • Provide advice and guidance with the purpose of making the most suitable IT decisions and choices following internal IT decisions and standards.
  • Maintain and develop lifecycle & maintenance plans for local manufacturing applications in line with regional and global roadmaps and IT standards.
  • Ensure adherence to the global IT Service Management processes and functions for the services.
  • Coordinate local IT Project and Central IT projects in the manufacturing area.
  • Participate and report status of the delivery in business forums and internal IT forums
  • Support with budgets & forecasting for local / regional IT budget, ensuring cost savings, and support the process related to IT service cost allocation towards internal units and customers.
  • Continuously build relationships and communicate with key-users/stakeholders, vendors and other IT functions to ensure successful deliveries.
  • Actively contribute to the development of Manufacturing IT support

The Person

You will possess broad IT experience from working in a manufacturing environment. Being proficient with managing enterprise scale systems, you will also be experienced in project management.

Most importantly with will possess good problem solving skills and have excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence challenging colleagues.
