Accounts Assistant // Runcorn //

Medlock Partners are partnering with a successful manufacturing business with ambitious growth plans, based in Runcorn as they look to appoint an Accounts Assistant into the team.

The role will report to the Financial Controller and will support with the day to day running of the accounts function with a particular focus on the full cycle of Accounts Payable process. There is also the opportunity to get involved with other tasks beyond Accounts Payable so it's a fantastic opportunity for someone who is confident in AP but would like to build on their knowledge and experience.

To be successful in this role you will need to have an organised approach to tasks and the ability to prioritise work effectively to ensure deadlines and assigned goals are met. Great attention to detail and high accuracy is also a must.

Key responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant:

  • Manage end-to-end Accounts Payable processes
  • Handle purchase invoices, including stock and non-stock items
  • Generate comprehensive weekly payment run report
  • Reconcile supplier statements
  • Allocate supplier payments accurately
  • Maintain up-to-date supplier master files
  • Provide support in preparing Monthly Management Accounts, Group Reporting, and Year End Accounting
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects as required.

Key requirements for the Accounts Assistant:

  • AAT qualified/studier or desire to study is desirable
  • Demonstrated expertise in accounts payable processes
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Possesses sound judgement and decision-making skills
  • Strong IT, numerical, and problem-solving proficiencies, with advanced Excel skills
  • Capable of working under tight deadlines and adept at prioritizing tasks effectively
  • Tenacious, self-starting, committed, and hardworking
