Location - OX1 (Hybrid role, few days per month in office)

Salary - £26.94 per hour PAYE

My Client, a local authority outside of London, are seeking a Carbon Reduction Project Manager to lead projects focused on carbon reduction. This role is ideal for someone who is well-organised, thrives on stakeholder engagement, and is passionate about making a lasting difference in a community at the forefront of sustainability.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Develop projects from concept to completion, managing requirements, developing solutions, and building business cases.
  • Lead on project interactions with Legal to secure permissions and consents.
  • Engage with the Local Planning Authority and present to committees as required.
  • Deliver projects with high-quality stakeholder and communications management.
  • Take the lead on all stakeholder engagement, managing press, communications, and engagement to effectively manage risk and stakeholder buy-in.
  • Identify and manage project risks, opportunities, and issues, and manage conflicts and change control.
  • Be responsible for project budgeting, cost control, and financial management.
  • Develop tenders and specifications for project appointments and manage procurement exercises.
  • Put together and lead working groups to achieve shared project goals in a timely manor.
  • Lead on contract management of all project commissions.
  • Be responsible for all project reporting and reviews.
  • Ensure quality management and attend construction sites, managing contractors.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Zero Carbon experience.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification/experience relevant to the role or a professional qualification in project management (e.g., PRINCE2).
  • Experience in delivering a concurrent portfolio of complex projects.
  • Clear understanding of risk management associated with project delivery.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively.
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills promoting a positive and partnership working culture.

This position is a Temporary assignment estimated originally for 5 months.
