Hays Recruitment are proud to share that one of our Widnes-based partnership schools is looking to recruit a resilient and motivated teaching assistant to support a pupil with complex ASD and non-verbal on a 1:1 basis from September. This is a full-time temporary long-term position.
Your new role
In your new role as an SEN Teaching Assistant within this school you will be supporting a pupil with complex ASD and non-verbal on a 1:1 basis. You will be their main point of contact throughout the school day, meeting them at the school gate and walking them back to their grown-up at the end of the school day. You will support them inside and outside the classroom (including lunch and break times), ensuring that any and all activities are inclusive and accessible. Other duties will include; speech and language interventions, phonics assessments, sensory development (utilising the sensory room as required), personal care, and behaviour management.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as previous experience working with complex SEN, as well as:
- Previous experience supporting ASD and/or non-verbal
- Be comfortable with personal care
- Be willing to commit to a full-time temporary ongoing contract
