Role Overview

As the Product Category Manager, you will oversee the strategic management of our product portfolio. This includes optimising product assortment, pricing, and promotion to maximise sales and profitability, ensuring a market-leading position in the education sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse product sales and performance data to make informed decisions, highlight trends, and optimise category strategies.
  • Conduct regular range reviews, manage the product life cycle, communicate decisions to stakeholders, and monitor impacts.
  • Understand market dynamics, customer preferences, and competitive pressures to identify growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, suppliers, sales, and marketing teams to develop strategies for product assortment, pricing, promotions, and digital merchandising.
  • Work with the Product Specialist to maintain and enhance the brand, ensuring the range remains creative, competitive, and market-leading.
  • Build relationships with suppliers, customers, and artists to support ongoing product development.
  • Ensure accuracy of product data across the range.

The Candidate:

  • Self-motivated with significant experience in category management or product management.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of the education industry is beneficial but not essential
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Proven ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, driving personal accountability.
  • Demonstrable ability to present, influence, and communicate effectively at all business levels.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and juggle priorities.
  • Proficient in data analysis, collection, and presentation.
  • Results-oriented with a positive outlook and a commitment to personal and professional development.
  • Proactive and organised approach, demonstrating professionalism and energy in all tasks.
