Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a confident Behaviour Mentor to join this close-knit supportive SEMH school in Islington starting in September 2024. This is a full time, long-term role for the full academic year and upon review there will be an opportunity to go permanent.
The School:
A special school in Islington for 11-16 year old children with social, emotional, mental health needs and / or social communication needs. They embrace individuality and recognise each child as unique by providing learners with opportunities to grow and develop in a safe and nurturing environment. Success is based on their ability to build strong relationships with their children and having an understanding that for many children, being at school has been a challenge. Staff here help to break down barriers and reignite a passion for learning through unwavering care and commitment. The curriculum has been designed to be inclusive, ambitious and engaging.
As a Behaviour Mentor you will be responsible for the below:
- Supporting 11-16 year olds to engage in lessons
- Reinforcing positive behaviour
- Providing advice and guidance and acting as a role model
- Working alongside colleagues and outside professionals
- Communicating with and supporting parents/carers
To join us and be successful in this role you will need:
- Experience of working with children/young people
- A good understanding of SEMH needs
- Calm and professional with a positive attitude
- An Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
- Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
- Legal right to work in the UK
