Business Development Manager - Equity Trading

Job Profile:

Helps drive Equity Trading new business opportunities within Europe and manages LSEG Equities Trading customer relationships using insight and understanding of customer needs to support account growth, whilst ensuring delivery of service for customers. This hire will work particularly closely with the CEO of Turquoise to further develop our European client relationships and enhance the Turquoise customer experience and offering.

Role profile:

The individual will develop new business opportunities in Europe, manage customer relationships and use insight and understanding of customer needs to support account growth, whilst ensuring delivery of service for customers. The role reports to the Head of Equity Trading Business Development. This hire will also work particularly closely with the CEO of Turquoise to further develop our European client relationships and enhance the Turquoise customer experience and offering. This is a high-profile industry role, featuring regular client engagement and thought leadership to improve our client coverage and beyond. The role would preferably be based in Amsterdam.

Enter the key responsibilities of the role:

  • Develops and maintains both internal and external relationships across the industry including buyside and sellside.
  • Maintains and increases revenue with customers.
  • Supports Equity Trading colleagues and wider Capital Markets business heads in overall direction, strategy and vision for the equities trading team which includes a range of activities (e.g., product, sales).
  • Develops and implement go-to-market plans for new members and assigned accounts.
  • Builds demand for products / services within a division, by raising their profile with customers and drive new product sales.
  • Conduct regular status and strategy meetings with the customer's senior leaders to understand their needs, and link them to the organisation's product / service strategies.
  • Produce and write reports based on detailed analysis, and presents findings and recommendations to senior management.

Enter the essential experience and skills required:

  • Extensive experience of European and ideally UK equity trading landscape and market structure including retail trading landscape
  • Knowledge of data analytics and management strategies preferable.
  • Experience defining and executing strategy and delivery in an international, large-scale organisation preferable.
  • Deep knowledge of global capital markets as well as LSEG's business, members, products, services, competitive and regulatory landscape.
  • Ability to represent the company in the marketplace with clients, industry bodies and participate in industry events and public meetings.
  • Established and extensive network of industry participants across customer segments
  • A focus on delivering against objectives including direct communication on the delivery of key initiatives and related KPIs
  • Self-motivating and resilient with the ability to work independently as well as within a wider team
  • Ability to develop business cases for new products / services and provide input to the Capital Markets leadership team regarding the strategy for assigned product areas
  • Work closely with wider Capital Markets colleagues across various businesses in determining product development requirements
  • Drive enhanced focus on data analytics to improve our customer engagement efforts and deepen our understanding of the competitive landscape, in partnership with data and pricing colleagues
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills are a must as the candidate will act as a consultant to clients and external stakeholders.
  • Extensive travel required within Europe, and possibly the UK and internationally.
