Waste Investigations Support & Enforcement (WISE) is dedicated to working with Local Authorities to combat issues like fly-tipping, littering, and dog fouling. Using the latest technology and industry knowledge, WISE is committed to maintaining clean and safe communities.
Role Overview for Environmental Support & Enforcement Officer:
As an Environmental Support & Enforcement Officer, you'll patrol the borough, engage with the community, educate on environmental issues, and enforce laws by issuing Fixed Penalty Notices when necessary.
Key Responsibilities for Environmental Support & Enforcement Officer:
- Patrolling: Follow a set strategy to patrol the borough.
- Investigating: Address community complaints and report findings.
- Educating: Raise awareness about environmental crimes and encourage community participation.
- Enforcing: Interact with offenders and issue Fixed Penalty Notices.
- Learning: Complete our Enviro Crime Induction Course to stay updated on legislation.
- Documenting: Keep thorough notebook entries and witness statements.
Ideal Candidate for the Environmental Support & Enforcement Officer:
- Good Communicator: Comfortable talking to the public, even in tough situations.
- Team Player: Able to work alone and with others.
- Physically Fit: Capable of walking for long periods in all weather conditions.
- Detail-Oriented: Clear and concise in writing reports.
- Proactive: Able to use initiative in carrying out duties.
- Eager to Learn: Willing to complete our induction course and patrol independently.
Additional Information for the Environmental Support & Enforcement Officer::
- Schedule: 5-day work pattern, Monday to Sunday, between 8am-6pm.
- Benefits: Company pension, 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays).
Requirements for Environmental Support & Enforcement Officer:
- Driving Licence: Preferred
- Screening: Successful candidates will undergo vetting. Cooperation is essential.
