My client are seeking a skilled Plumber to join their team, delivering high-quality adaptations work for local authority houses in Barnsley. This role involves working alongside a joiner, and any multi-skilling would be highly advantageous. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of tasks including first and second fixing in bathrooms and kitchens, as well as general plumbing operations.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Work as part of a team to deliver adaptation works efficiently and to a high standard.
- Carry out first and second fixing in bathrooms and kitchens.
- Remove and refit radiators and perform all other general plumbing operations.
- Install central heating systems, solid fuel boilers, sink units, water closets, baths, showers, and wash basins.
- Renew external gutters, fall pipes, soil stacks, and repair external water services and stop cocks.
- Liaise with other employees, tenants, managers, and caretakers.
- Work at heights using the necessary safety equipment.
- Maintain vehicle stock levels to ensure service efficiency.
- Submit all worksheets and documents relating to jobs within the required timescales.
- Carry out Driver/Labourer duties as and when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing.
- NVQ Level 3 or willingness to work towards gaining this qualification.
- Apprentice trained in the Plumbing industry.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures in relation to plumbing work.
- Evidence of carrying out regular domestic plumbing work.
- Experience with different types of hot water systems/showers & sanitary ware.
- Experience and examples of working at height.
- Ability to undertake aspects of multi-skilling where required.
- Experience in the use of mobile and digital technology for the receiving and completing of work.
