A business operating within the chemicals sector is seeking a commercially focussed Sales Manager to join the team in the Southampton area. Working specifically within cleaning and wastewater treatment products and services, this business has the mission of creating a healthier and safer world by actioning key environmental concerns across the globe. They have built up years of success and are pushing their way through an exciting growth period where they are expanding their customer database of some of the most major global businesses across the hospitality, tourism and utilities sectors.

This role will be crucial in this growth, with the position holder taking a transformational role within the business to drive development across the team, the client database and into new markets. The business is looking for a passionate individual, who shares the same drive as the business to change the impact that we are having on the environment via wastewater and sewage management, and who can relay this passion to potential and existing customers to push sales forward.

Your Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Proactively building a strong customer base for the business
  • Undertaking sales-based activities to increase sales via a plethora of channels
  • Contributing to the development of the overall sales function and junior sales professionals within the business to optimise the success of the company
  • Conducting customer site visits to demonstrate and introduce the range of products from the business and providing hands-on training sessions as needed
  • Creating and maintaining a leads database to track new and potential sales activities
  • Assisting with advertising, videos, trade show exhibitions and brochures to support sales activities and promotions
  • Creating and presenting weekly sales reports on activity, closed sales and action points to address
  • Ensuring that industry knowledge is up to date at all times

What you will need to Apply:

The ideal candidate for this role will be a strong sales leader with several years' experience in technical sales, specifically in seller wastewater solutions and product or into these industries. You must be able to demonstrate experience in generating sales growth and development, including developing new business markets and transforming sales teams and functions. A good understanding of the water and wastewater routes to market is essential. Other sector experience can include food and drink, green processing, construction or pharmaceuticals. Exposure to working within ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001 is desirable. A qualification such as administration or engineering would also be preferable. Candidates must have exquisite communication and leadership skills.

A driving license is needed and there will be expectation for the position holder to travel extensively for the role.
