RM Recruit Ltd is working with our Birmingham based Public Sector client who are on the lookout for a Finance Business Partner on a 2-year fixed contract basis. There may be scope for this role to transition into a permanent opportunity. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing financial expertise and strategic support to various departments within the organisation including having wide stakeholder liaison. You will be instrumental in ensuring financial efficiency and effectiveness, supporting decision-making processes, and enhancing overall financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Being the driving force and pivotal in forging relationships with wider non finance stakeholders
- Presenting and translating complex jargon to the wider organisation
- Bridging the gap between the finance function and wider internal and external stakeholders
- Act as a strategic partner to departmental managers, providing financial insights and guidance to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation.
- Prepare and analyse financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
- Conduct financial analysis and modelling to support business cases, projects, and strategic initiatives.
- Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies, and promote best practices in financial management.
- Collaborate with the finance team to improve financial systems, processes, and controls.
- Use Oracle financial systems to manage financial data and produce accurate and timely reports.
As the ideal candidate, you will be available immediately / short notice and possess strong Finance Business Partnering experience. You will be qualified, ACCA/CIMA etc. however, candidates who are QBE or Part Qualified will be considered. Proven experience as a Finance Business Partner or in a similar financial role within the public sector is highly desirable coupled with good system knowledge. Oracle experience is highly desirable however, not essential.
Our client offers a fantastic pension package of c29% employer contribution and office presence is limited to twice per week at their offices in Birmingham.
