We are seeking a Science Technician to join an outstanding secondary school in Milton Keynes. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in science and experience in laboratory management. Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare materials and equipment for science experiments and practical lessons.
  • Maintain and organise laboratory equipment and resources.
  • Ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are followed in the science labs.
  • Assist teaching staff with demonstrations and support students during practical sessions.
  • Manage the stock control of chemicals and laboratory equipment.
  • Carry out routine equipment checks and arrange for repairs as necessary.
  • Support the science department with administrative tasks as needed.

Must Have:

  • Available Monday - Friday, 5 days a week - Part time 11am till 3pm.
  • Hold an Enhanced Child DBS within the last 2 years, or be willing to obtain one through Engage Education
  • A strong understanding of science and laboratory safety protocols.
  • Experience working as a Science Technician or in a similar laboratory-based role.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in handling scientific equipment and preparing materials for experiments.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work under pressure.
