As an Audit Assistant Manager, you'll take on larger, more complex audit jobs, lead planning and completion, and guide Trainees and Apprentices, building your skills toward managerial responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- 80% audit work, 20% accounts.
- Lead audits for clients with turnovers up to £250 million, including specialised audits (e.g., FSA, pensions, charities).
- Prepare draft corporation tax computations, statutory accounts, and consolidated accounts.
- Support and train junior staff, and address technical accounting/auditing issues.
- Over time, take on a portfolio of audit and non-audit clients, manage client relationships, and supervise staff development.
- Contribute to audit team improvement and assist with business development.
Requirements:
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- Previous experience in a Chartered Practice, ideally with exposure to diverse clients, including pension schemes, LLPs, FCA-regulated entities, and charities.
- Comfortable with audit and accounts preparation for turnovers up to £40 million.
- Strong technical knowledge of FRS 102, FRS 105 (IFRS knowledge is a plus).
- Confident communicator with clients, staff, and partners.
- Hands-on, self-starter, with the ability to multitask and provide on-the-job training.
