Qualified Finance Manager

Success Recruit are currently working with a growing family-run business in the manufacturing and industrial sector, seeking a Qualified Finance Manager to join their team based in South Essex. This is an integral position within their Management Team reporting directly to the MD and leading the day-to-day activity of a busy department, developing & improving processes.

The successful Qualified Finance Manager will be expected to:

  • Previously supported in a senior accounting position & looking to grow and develop further in their career to management / director level
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, accompanied with strong attention to detail, organisation, and a proactive approach to work
  • Experienced using Sage accounting software or similar & be able to demonstrate a strong commercial awareness with the ability to make business decisions supporting sales growth and cash flow etc

Job Description:

The Qualified Finance Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the finance function of the business, managing & developing a small team of accounts staff & supporting with the day-to-day office management of up to 12 staff in total. The ideal candidate will be deadline focused and have a track record of making informed strategic decisions.

Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Ensuring accuracy of accounting records
  • Modernising the businesses' accounting practices, incorporating new technologies and automation
  • Cash management, forecasting & budgeting
  • Reviewing monthly profit & loss reports, presenting findings during monthly management meetings
  • Managing the sales and purchase ledgers, including cash in and payments out
  • Overseeing credit control, bank / petty cash / credit card reconciliations, and payroll function
  • Producing financial statements and corporation tax returns
  • Attending management meetings and contribution in all areas, thinking outside of the box, positioning new ideas for growth & development
  • General office management, including managing the company car fleet and leasing requirements
  • Managing the company's insurances
  • Liaising with third parties; including IT support, accountants, property managers, HR & Legal support

This is an exciting opportunity to become a key member of staff and develop with the company long-term whilst having the opportunity to grow into a Finance Director position. It will suit someone who enjoys looking for ways to improve a business and be part of the senior management team supporting the director with growth plans long term.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm / 9 - 5pm - working from home 1 day a week initially.

Salary: Up to circa £50K DOE
