The Role – Liability Adjuster:

This is a technical, customer-facing role, the prime purpose of which is to conduct investigations to establish both policy and legal liability and to settle claims on behalf of our Insurer clients. This will be mainly desk based though in-person investigation is expected within your area. You will be managing third party public liability property damage claims of varying complexity. You will with working both independently and under licenced referral managing claims up to £100k in value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate allegations against policyholders and provide advice on policy and legal liability
  • Collate all relevant information, photographs, statements and documentation
  • Identify fraud risks and concerns
  • Manage litigation when appropriate
  • Maintain accurate databases, files, and correspondence to provide a clear history of events and quantum assessment.

Required for this role:

  • Experience in liability and property damage claims
  • Good understanding of insurance law and policy interpretation
  • Knowledge and skills in contract, statute and civil liability
  • Strong investigative skills to identify suspicious information and prevent fraudulent claims
  • Influencing skills to gain agreements
  • The ability to listen and respond to people effectively whilst displaying empathy.
  • Motivated to provide a prompt, efficient and personalised service
  • Property (PLPD / TPPD) background with the ability to investigate all liability claims
  • Thorough knowledge of current case law, common law/statute and regulations
  • Have a clean full driving licence
  • Insurance qualifications preferred, but relevant experience considered
  • Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills are a plus in our global business
