Long-Term Teachers have an amazing opportunity to join a fantastic special needs school, based in Dartington, as a primary teacher.

The role will involved all class planning and preparation, along with any additional responsibilities around the school. Our independent special school provides high-quality, individualised and small group learning for up to 40 pupils aged 7-16.

You will be delivering the KS1 and KS2 curriculum due to the academic needs of the students. The students all have an EHCP associated with communication and learning difficulties. Alongside facilitating academic progress, you will play a key role in promoting the students' social and emotional wellbeing.

About the role:

  • Plan and deliver an inspiring curriculum
  • Encourage all students to participate and engage in their learning
  • Monitor student progress and report writing
  • Adapt and respond to suit the needs of the students
  • Work closely with support staff and SLT
  • Promote the safeguarding and welfare of the students

About you:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS/PGCE) is preferred, although we welcome candidates with other relevant teaching qualifications
  • Must have previous teaching experience
  • A passion for supporting students with special educational needs
  • Excellent behaviour management
  • Adaptable, flexible and a great sense of humour

This is a full time position, commencing in September 2024. You will be required to work Monday to Friday, 08:45 - 16:45. If you are passionate, hard-working, empathetic and aspire to make a difference, this will be the perfect role for you!
