Your Role:

As a Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide One-on-One Support: Assist specific secondary school pupils with additional needs across various curriculum subjects
  • Collaborate with Teachers: Work closely with class teachers to ensure each student's success
  • Nurture Social Skills: Help students develop essential social abilities
  • Maintain Focus: Keep students engaged and on task
  • Contribute to Academic Development: Support students' academic growth and achievement
  • Assist the Broader Class: Offer support to the entire class and teacher as needed

Requirements:

To be eligible for this rewarding role, you need:

  • Experience: Recent work with secondary age children, preferably in a one-on-one capacity
  • SEND/SEMH Support: Proven track record supporting secondary students with SEND and/or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Qualifications: Minimum Level 3 qualified or equivalent
  • Supportive Demeanour: Nurturing attitude with exceptional behaviour management skills
  • Relationship Building: Ability to forge strong working relationships with students and staff
  • Comprehensive CV: Detailed employment history for the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps
  • Safeguarding Compliance: Enhanced DBS Disclosure, professional reference checks, and Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable)
  • Legal Right to Work
  • Interview Availability: Willingness to attend a face-to-face registration interview
