Science Teacher
Science Teacher for a mainstream secondary school in Merton. The school require an Science teacher with experience teaching Key Stage 3, 4 and 5. This role is a permanent position starting January 2025. The school are keen to meet Science Teachers over the next few weeks.
The school is oversubscribed with over 1200 students on roll and was rated 'Good' in their most recent Ofsted report. They are passionate about supporting staff progress and develop within their career, you will be joining a dedicated team of teachers within the Science Department.
Responsibilities:
- To plan deliver Science lessons based on the national curriculum following the schools teaching and learning policies.
- To monitor and support progress and development of all students.
- To contribute to raising attainment overall for all students.
- To follow the behaviour and safeguarding policies when necessary.
- To support the schools' overall goals for students personal and academic progress.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Have QTS (or equivalent) with a relating undergraduate degree.
- Experience teaching secondary age students.
- Have knowledge of the curriculum requirements for Key Stage 3, 4 & 5.
- Be able to work well within a team and have positive relationships with all staff.
- Have good communication skills, both written and verbal, with internal staff, parents, carers and other outside agencies.
- Proficient IT skills, ideally experience using interactive whiteboards.
- Be proactive, have good time management and organisational skills.
- Be able to motivate students and create a positive learning environment and confidently manage behaviour within the classroom.
