Currently at £3 million turnover, this business was founded in 2009, is based in leafy Windsor and has grown organically, with currently 2 sites - and growth plans for the next 3-4 years. Alongside this main site, they run a handful of additional sites with the view of adding more in the near future.
Reporting to a Commercial MD, the main area of responsibility will be to focus on management / financial accounting, managing 2 Accounts Assistants, whilst providing commercial input in tandem with MD to grow the business forward. Candidates with experience in hospitality preferred, however if you are an ambitious Finance Manager / Accountant keen to work in a growing business and are otherwise well-suited to this hospitality sector - this could be the role for you. Hybrid-based (after 3 month probation working on-site), this is a fantastic role for a locally-based, diligent & friendly Finance Manager looking to add commercial input, with a team of 3 in finance; transactional responsibilities not operational responsibilities will not be part of this role
Main responsibilities
- Running the budgeting & forecasting processes
- Drive the financial planning of the business through financial analysis of its performance & risks
- Manage working capital & produce cash flow forecasts
- Prepare monthly accounts, posting accruals, prepayments and similar entries
- Prepare timely and detailed reports and analysis on financial performance on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
- Drive continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting processes
- Oversee and manage the company's finance IT system
- Monitor and present KPI reports regularly
- Manage the end-to-end audit process of current systems
- Plan and manage all external audit and internal control operations
- Responsible to submitting Duty and VAT returns to HMRC
- Assist with payroll as and when necessary
Candidate Requirements
- Part or Fully Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) - or QBE
- Experience as a Finance Manager or Management / Financial Accountant, ideally in a hospitality business / SME - though a natural inclination to this sector will be considered
- Ability to delegate & manage the work of others, with technical accounting knowledge including AP and AR
- Experience of business partnering with financial analysis & cashflow forecasting
- Experience of producing full P&L budgets
- Well-versed in the use of MS Office, including excel modelling & software (e.g. Xero / Quickbooks)
- Strong organizational & leadership skills
- Demonstrable communication & interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire others to reach their potential, in managing junior finance colleagues
- Possess integrity - with transparency & honesty
- Attention to detail - able to manage costs and business processes with detailed knowledge and insight
