(Senior) Business Development Manager, Litigation & Dispute Resolution - World Leading Law Firm

Posted by Leighton Taylor Consulting.

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development professional to join one of the world's leading law firms to provide focused business development and marketing support to the partners and associates of the firm's market-leading Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice.

The firm has an ambitious global strategy which puts clients at the very heart of everything they do and have a clear mandate to develop existing strengths and relationships whilst also increasing market share in new markets. The firm's marketing and business development function is seen as pivotal in making this strategy a reality. The team works strategically with the partnership with the aim of making the firm the global law firm of choice for the world's leading businesses. You will be part of a highly regarded team supporting the development of the firm's Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice and you will enjoy a hands-on and proactive role working directly with the Regional Practice Area Lead who is based in London. The London practice has significant expertise across all areas and sectors of dispute resolution, and individuals from across the group are also becoming increasingly engaged in emerging areas, such as data and ESG. The firm is recognised as a long-standing partner for key players in the market, including some of the largest banks, financial investors and corporates and, as such, the team is regularly involved in major high-profile cases, many of which receive significant media attention. This role will be business critical in its support to the London team and offers an experienced and ambitious business development professional a chance to make a huge impact. You will work with your regional counterparts, as well as with other members of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice located across the globe. Operating closely with the partnership, the Business Development Manager or Senior Manager will enjoy a strategic role requiring a high-energy leader who will be able to adopt a problem-solving approach to day-to-day support, guide others in resolving complex issues, play a key role in setting best practice and take the lead in the successful delivery of longer-term strategic initiatives. You will be heavily involved in strategic and key account planning, taking a leadership role in client relationship management, by applying depth of product knowledge to support client and segment programmes, working with Client Development Managers across priority clients and supporting the client listening programme through client feedback interviews. The role holder will be responsible for driving and coordinating the pitching process for significant Litigation & Dispute Resolution-led opportunities in the region and will oversee their effective pursuit, including everything from coaching lawyers to capturing practice credentials. The successful applicant will also have strong involvement in wider strategic marketing and thought leadership.

In order to perform this role successfully, the ideal candidate will have extensive previous experience in professional services business development, gained in a leading law firm, to include broad experience in dealing with senior management and key stakeholders and previous leadership and line management responsibility. A highly organised self-starter and exceptional team player, the Business Development Manager or Senior Manager will possess good commercial awareness of legal market developments, particularly across London, and excellent coaching, influencing, communication and presentation skills. A strong interest in and understanding of Litigation and Dispute Resolution will also be essential.
