Job Description: This is a very unique opportunity as you will be responsible for setting up and launching our clients brand new Ocean Freight Department. You will work closely with the Supply Chain Manager and the Director to set up this brand-new department. They are looking for someone who comes with a proven track record of Ocean Freight. Someone who can implement processes and procedures when needed. As an Ocean Freight Operator, you will be at the forefront of managing and overseeing the entire forwarding process, ensuring peak efficiency and compliance at every step. This role presents an exhilarating opportunity for a driven and ambitious individual to elevate their career to senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As an Ocean / Sea Freight operator you will secure and negotiate cargo bookings with precision and efficiency.
  • Complete customs processes, ensuring full compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • As an Ocean / Sea Freight operator you will monitor and update shipment statuses in the company's system, providing clients with regular, accurate updates.
  • As an Ocean / Sea Freight Operator you will handle the flow of essential documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, commercial invoices, certificates of origin, and licenses.
  • Oversee the shipping of out-of-gauge/project cargo, managing all related aspects.
  • As an Ocean / Sea Freight Operator you will coordinate the collection and delivery process, ensuring smooth operations until the cargo reaches its final destination.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Ocean Freight.
  • Deep understanding of customs laws and regulations.
  • Hands on approach and a can do attitude.
  • Exceptional communication skills for effective coordination and negotiation.
  • Valid DBS check
  • Candidates with driving licenses will be preferred due to the location.

Salary:

  • £30,000.00 - £35,000.00 per year.
