Alexander Daniels are currently seeking a highly motivated Property Accountant to join a rapidly growing organisation based in Birmingham on a full-time, permanent basis. As a Property Accountant, you will be responsible for a mixed portfolio of properties, play a part in the month end accounts process and provide support for the finance manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Approving invoices and coding to the relevant budgets
- Collating and monitoring service charge budgets, working with stakeholders to agree costs and reporting to tenants
- Producing Actual v Budget comparisons and communicating internally to ensure expenditure is kept in line with budget
- Service charge journalling end reconciliations
- Dealing with queries
- Reviewing income and expenditure
- Posting prepayments and accruals
- Identify opportunities to improve cost management for your portfolio.
Qualifications and Skills:
- AAT Level 3 as a minimum
- Ideally property and/or service charge experience
- Experienced in financial analysis and/or budgeting and forecasting
- Experience with accounting systems and Excel (lookups and SUMIFs minimum)
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Confident communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proactive problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
