Overview
Nextgen teachers are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support our educational team in fostering a positive learning environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers to enhance student engagement and assist with various classroom activities. Within this role you will be working across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 so will have a good knowledge on phonics schemes as well familiarity with SATS.

Duties

  • Assist teachers in preparing lesson materials and classroom resources.
  • Support individual students or small groups in their learning activities.
  • Help maintain an organised and welcoming classroom environment.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers on student performance.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including record-keeping and filing.
  • Facilitate communication between teachers, students, and parents as required.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning.
  • An understanding of educational practices and child development principles such as phonics and SATS
