Financial Analyst

Robert Half is currently seeking an experienced Interim Finance Analyst on behalf of a long-standing client based in Central Bristol. This role has arisen to provide essential support during an ongoing permanent recruitment process.

Role Summary:

As an Interim Finance Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the finance team by developing comprehensive financial models and dashboards. You will be responsible for building budget models from scratch, integrating Profit & Loss (P&L), Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow components to provide insightful financial analysis and reporting. This role requires strong technical skills, particularly in Power Query, Macros, and Power BI, to automate and streamline financial processes.

Position: Interim Finance Analyst
Location: Central Bristol (Hybrid - 1 day in office per week)
Day Rate: Up to £350.00 per day
Duration: 3-4 months+
Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and build detailed budget models from scratch, encompassing P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
  • Establish and implement rules and logic to ensure integration and alignment between the P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow within the models.
  • Create and maintain financial dashboards to visualise key financial metrics and trends, using Power BI.
  • Utilise Power Query and Macros to automate data collection, transformation, and reporting processes.
  • Collaborate closely with the finance team to gather necessary data, validate assumptions, and ensure accuracy in financial models.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required to support decision-making processes.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in financial analysis, with a strong track record of building complex financial models from scratch.
  • Expertise in integrating P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow components within financial models.
  • Advanced proficiency in Power Query, Macros, and Power BI.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and manipulate large data sets.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
